How to unlock a cell phone for free
Disappeared are the days when you had to go to tech to free a cell phone and trust the equipment to someone we knew little about, taking the risk that when you return the cell phone won't work properly and the replacement part ... they were out of place.
Major telecom operators have simplified phone unlocking procedures by making it less time consuming to unlock terminals for another company to use.
Some websites and online stores allow you to unlock mobile phones by IMEI for free, but the codes they provide may be false or outdated and not from the manufacturer or seller, which ultimately means more damage to your smartphone.
There is currently no point in taking such a risk as many carriers offer us the tools to unlock cell phones for free, regardless of their telemarketing.
Unlocking a phone is a process that depends on both the
carrier and the operating system of the device, and it can be beneficial to you
because it will multiply the value of your smartphone and be easier to sell.
How a cell phone is released
Since 2014, almost all smartphones sold by operators have already been released and, at least in Spain, the law requires telecom operators to allow cell phones to be released as soon as the contract period of stay expires.
Unlocking your mobile phone has several advantages. Most relevant:
Ability to use a mobile phone with a new line when traveling
abroad
Add value to your phone when you sell it
To be able to hire another telemarketer in your country
Use your smartphone without subscribing to any operator
Prevent anyone from using Google search on my device
Save and use other tariffs
In short, unlocking consists of two steps: obtaining an unlock code and applying it to your device.
Unlocking a mobile phone can be a simple task if you are familiar with the terminal setup and meet the initial operator requirements. If so, just call to get an unlock code, which, when entered, will break the connection between the mobile phone and the operator.
However, not all carriers offer free codes to unlock cell phones, provide technical support or help set up a cell phone and use it with another carrier.
As soon as the code is applied to the device, the communication between the cell phone and its operator is terminated and the process ends.
Another way to continue unlocking is to enter the IMEI
number, which can be found in the settings or in the specifications of the
device.
